Very "creative" use of a "roll-a-way" skid ............ a design we
had never considered ............ nor will ever implement! If a building is only as
good as it's foundation .... this one is in trouble.
Where do we
start?
(1) 24"+ spacing on rafters & wall studs (very cheap/bad building practices.
(2) "BOOGER WOOD" warning.
(3) No cap/top plate.
(4) No end studs on front wall (@ corner).
As before, the use of T-111 siding (instead of proper roof sheathing) is
a cheap, problem prone, ill-advised practice. Then to further drive the "point
home" this "builder" used roofing nails that were too long and punctured
the underside not only looking bad, exposing the underbelly to the elements (mainly
moisture).
Cool wiring job ................ NOT!!! Lets pile (never trim ... that's too
professional) the excess wire on the cap/top plate (hay the actually have a cap/top plate
... Celebrate!! oh... those 24+" centers again .... ).
What's with the "masking tape method" of wire hold
downs? Is this indicative of how long they know their building will stand? Next
time step-up and use .69 worth of wire staples (much more sanitary /
PROFESSIONAL). Also drill a hole for the wire to pass through would clean things up
a bit.
This "owner" told us that the "big box store" said
that "steel is the only way to go" ............. well evidently they were
(left up-to interpretation) partially correct .............. Their building "let
go" when it snowed (4) four inches. This after the owner had to endure three years
of rusted tools, ruined furniture due to moisture condensation and two break-ins due
to junk lock/door handles.

A creative
way to "git-r-dun".
More of the
fabled "BOOGER WOOD".
More
24+" (a lot more than 24") "cheese balled",
missing the ridge board altogether.
What is
this? We know it must be "art" ... it sure isn't any part of a building
structure is it!
WOW!!! we must of missed that one at building school. They must of been one of those
paste eaters........ When will this all stop?
This
"nail job" is a nice finishing touch....................... Why must they
persist?
